BURSARY INFORMATION

The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce a limited number of bursaries to assist delegates from the countries listed below,  to attend the 9th APHC 2011 which will be held from 14th – 17th July 2011 at Hotel Equatorial, Penang, Malaysia.

The following information outlines how the bursary programme will operate and what the process is for applying.

A. WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Any individual who is at least 18 years of age, from the countries listed below requiring financial assistance to attend the Conference is eligible.

  • Maldives
  • Myanmar
  • Philippines
  • Thailand
  • Bhutan
  • Indonesia
  • Lao PDR
  • Marshall Islands
  • Papua New Guinea
  • Solomon Islands
  • Vanuatu
  • Bangladesh
  • India
  • Kirabati
  • Micronesia Federal States
  • Pakistan
  • Sri Lanka
  • Tonga
  • China
  • Iraq
  • Mongolia
  • Nepal
  • Samoa
  • Timor Leste
  • Vietnam

Preference will be given to individuals who are actively engaged in delivering outstanding palliative care or submitted an oral or poster abstract for presentation at this Conference and who are not receiving any financial support from other sources.

B. CONFERENCE LANGUAGE

The conference language will be English.

C. EXPENSES THAT MAY BE COVERED BY A BURSARY IN FULL OR PART

  • Waiver of conference registration fees
  • Return economy airfare
  • Accommodation

NB – Those individuals who are successful in obtaining a bursary for travel will have to purchase their return economy airfare on their own. The due amount will be reimbursed in the equivalent of Ringgit Malaysia when they register at the Conference.

D. HOW TO APPLY?

  1. Applicants must complete the BURSARY APPLICATION FORM available in this website
  2. The applicant’s request will be rejected if any part of the submitted application form is incomplete or if the information contained in it is false.
  3. Bursaries are not transferable to another person
  4. Bursaries are not redeemable in cash
  5. All decisions of the Selection Committee are final.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS BY 23 APRIL 2011

E. SELECTION PROCESS:

Applicants who are selected will be contacted within two weeks following the submission deadline date.
